KIPP St. Louis currently educates over 2,000 students and, at full growth, nearly 3,600 students plus hundreds of alumni. Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school.
This role will be working primarily at our KIPP Inspire Academy middle school. You are an educator who builds bridges—bridging understanding and comprehension to support students who speak a variety of languages at home and helping these students learn in English. You communicate effectively and understand not just how to convey ideas but also culture and customs. You aim to ensure everyone—students, teachers, and parents—understands to support students in their educational journeys.

On a day-to-day basis, you can look forward to the following:
Responsibilities- Curriculum Development and Instruction:
Work collaboratively with the Director of Special Populations to ensure a strong ESOL programming. - Teach small group ESOL classes and assist in writing a challenging, standards-aligned curriculum that addresses current academic levels and promotes critical thinking.
- Provide push-in ESOL support and additional intervention to scholars when appropriate.
- Assist the Director of Special Populations in completing and documenting state-mandated English language proficiency screening and testing at BOY and in January of each school year.
- Serve as a resource for teachers working with ELL students.
- Analyze student achievement data each testing cycle to inform intentional language instruction for the coming unit.
- Attend meetings and conferences for parents of ELL students to ensure parents have the necessary information for their child to achieve success.
- Build strong relationships and positive rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
- Model, enforce and uphold values, policies, and culture.
- Engage in frequent collaboration and communication with the Director of Special Populations and other colleagues around lesson planning, instructional observations, and student data.
- Actively participate in weekly staff development activities, meetings, and weekly check-ins with the Director of Special Populations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students.
