St. Stephen Protomartyr School seeks a mission‑driven Middle School Science Teacher for grades 6–8 for the upcoming school year. The teacher will deliver rigorous, developmentally appropriate science instruction while supporting the values and mission of Catholic education. The ideal candidate fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence, and collaborates effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality science instruction aligned with Archdiocesan and school curriculum standards.
- Design and implement hands‑on labs, demonstrations, and project-based learning experiences.
- Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning, respect, and student engagement.
- Use varied assessment methods to monitor progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance instruction.
- Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and communication with families.
- Collaborate with the middle school team on curriculum development and interdisciplinary projects.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school wide events.
- Model and uphold the values of Catholic education and contribute to the spiritual life of the school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related science field required.
- Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification.
- Experience teaching middle school or working with adolescents preferred.
- Strong understanding of STEM instruction, lab safety, and adolescent development.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
