SummaryReports directly to the building principal. Supervise areas of specific responsibilities as they relate to the classroom or program setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct daily and long‑range planning for classroom or program activities.
- Display knowledge of the curriculum and subject matter.
- Use effective teaching techniques, strategies, and skills during lessons.
- Evaluate student progress.
- Manage student behavior.
- Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Provide for individual differences and learning styles.
- Demonstrate a positive working relationship with the students.
- Communicate student progress and needs to parents.
- Engage in positive interpersonal relationships with members of the school staff.
- Follow policies, regulations, and procedures of the school district.
- Assume responsibilities outside the classroom.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
- A teaching certificate substantiating completion of eligibility requirements for science, secondary education.
- Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources.
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects.
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
- Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups.
- Requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
- The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard‑free environment.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
