Job Summary
The Music Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality music instruction in a faith-centered Catholic school environment. This role supports student creativity, musical development, and appreciation of music while integrating Catholic values into instruction and school life.
Key Responsibilities- Provide music instruction to students in Preschool through designated grade levels
- Teach music fundamentals including rhythm, melody, movement, vocal technique, and music literacy
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that encourage participation and confidence
- Prepare students for school performances such as concerts, assemblies, and seasonal programs
- Support and assist with music for school liturgies, Masses, and prayer services
- Foster a structured, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment
- Collaborate with school administration and teachers as needed
- Communicate effectively with students and families regarding expectations and activities
- Support the mission and values of Catholic education through positive role modeling
Schedule:
School-day hours
Follows the academic school calendar
Part-time or full-time schedule based on school needs
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or related field preferred
Experience teaching music to children preferred
Knowledge of age-appropriate instructional strategies
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to inspire student engagement and appreciation for music
Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education
Ability to meet all background check and Safe Environment requirement
