Job DescriptionAnticipated start date: 08/14/2026.
Details: 9.5‑month support staff positions, full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, with district‑recognized holidays and paid sick and personal leave. These positions offer a district‑provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life, and vision insurance.
Compensation:
According to the Support Staff Pay Schedule within the Certified Staff Assistant and Staff Assistant ranges. Those with a Teaching Certification begin on Level G, Step 1 at $20.96 hourly. Those with a Substitute Certification begin on Level B, Step 1 at $16.74 hourly. Placement within the 2026‑27 Support Staff Pay Schedule is determined by experience and education.
Job Summary:
To assist the administration by providing support to school educational programs, offering appropriate classroom supports, activities, and a learning environment so that students may learn effectively and experience a smoothly functioning program.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- One of the following is required to obtain a Substitute Certification:
- 60 college credit hours
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Missouri Para Pro Assessment passing score (before September 23, 2013)
- Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment passing score (after September 23, 2013)
- Completed Missouri’s 20‑hour online substitute training program
- Missouri Teaching Certification preferred
- Experience working in a school setting preferred
- Experience working with children preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, email, etc. preferred
- Experience with office equipment preferred
- Excellent attendance
- Ability to listen well and respond to questions from students in a professional manner is required
- Ability to redirect and interact positively with students is required
- Ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly, and respond to situations in a calm, caring manner is required
- Ability to remain flexible and positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task, or assignment is required
- Ability to work as a team player, communicate, and collaborate with staff is required
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students and the school community is required
- Ability to work with a multi‑ethnic, multicultural student population is required
- Willingness to learn new material and, as needed, attend professional development is required
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
