As the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Campus Traditions, you’ll play an integral role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus community.

  • Serve as the primary advisor for CONNECT (Committee on New N' Existing Campus Traditions), Maryville’s student programming board.
  • Mentor student leaders through event planning, leadership development, organizational management, and collaborative decision‑making.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop future student leaders who help shape the Maryville experience.

  • Commuter Connect initiatives

From concept through execution, you’ll help create engaging, high‑quality experiences that encourage students to get involved and build lasting connections.

  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop recognition days, heritage month celebrations, and belonging initiatives.
  • Help ensure programs are welcoming, accessible, and reflective of Maryville’s diverse student community.
  • Build intentional opportunities for students to connect with one another and with campus resources.
Supervise & Mentor Student Employees
  • Lead, coach, and develop Front Desk student employees and graduate interns.
  • Oversee scheduling, training, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Support student‑led marketing and engagement teams, including the Content Collective and Creative Crew.
  • Guide student employees in creating engaging communications and promoting campus traditions.
Use Data to Improve Student Engagement
  • Assess program effectiveness through participation data and student feedback.
  • Identify trends that strengthen student engagement and belonging.
  • Partner with colleagues to continuously enhance programs and the overall student experience.
Steward Resources Responsibly
  • Manage assigned programming budgets.
  • Coordinate vendors, logistics, timelines, and operational planning to ensure successful events and responsible financial stewardship.
