St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School is seeking qualified and faith-filled Substitute Teachers to support classroom instruction as needed. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment while upholding the mission and values of Catholic education.
Position SummaryThe Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining instructional continuity in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role supports student learning by following provided lesson plans, managing the classroom effectively, and fostering a positive, faith-centered atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities- Implement lesson plans and classroom procedures as provided by the regular teacher
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment
- Support student learning and engagement across grade levels as assigned
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding classroom needs or concerns
- Uphold school policies and expectations
- Model and support Catholic values in interactions with students and staff
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (education-related field a plus)
- Substitute teaching certification or eligibility per Archdiocesan/state requirements
- Classroom experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Flexibility, reliability, and professionalism
- Familiarity with Catholic school settings
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church
- Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and learning levels
This position reports to the School Principal or designated administrator.
