Zion Lutheran School is seeking educators who not only teach effectively, but also lead students with wisdom, faith, and care through every part of school life.
A Zion teacher is more than an instructor—they are a spiritual leader, mentor, and partner with families in nurturing both the academic and faith development of each child.
We are seeking the following teaching positions:
- Junior High Math & 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher
- 5th Grade Teacher
- 4th Grade Teacher
- 3rd Grade Teacher

- Build positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence, perseverance, and character
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support student success
- Participate in school life, including meetings, professional development, and school events
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
- Support the overall mission and ministry of the school through daily actions and attitudes
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid teaching certificate in Illinois (or ability to obtain one)
- Demonstrated success in student teaching or classroom instruction
- Strong understanding of child development and instructional practices
- Commitment to Christian education and alignment with the mission of Zion Lutheran School and teachings of the LCMS
- Ability to pass a background check, including fingerprinting
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and development
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Participate in school-wide activities and events
- Work collaboratively as part of a unified, mission-driven team
- A living, active Christian faith demonstrated through daily life
- A heart for children and a passion for Christian education
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Ability to serve as a Christ-centered role model for students

Informal walk-thrus by the administrator;
Formal observation and evaluation annually with the administrator
