As a Student Wellbeing Mentor, you'll work directly with elementary and middle school students, helping them build confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, problem-solving, and other social-emotional skills needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. - Build positive mentoring relationships with elementary and middle school students.
- Facilitate individual and small-group mentoring using CHADS Coalition's Social Emotional Well-Being curriculum.
- Support students in developing emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, relationship, and decision-making skills.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, school staff, and families.
- Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation and outcome data.
- Ensure services meet CHADS program and quality standards.
- Participate in agency meetings, supervision, and professional development.
- Represent CHADS Coalition professionally within partner schools.
- Bachelor's degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Youth Development, Mental Health, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children.
- Experience supporting social-emotional development, mentoring, or youth programming.
- Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills.
- Reliable transportation to assigned schools.
- Experience working in K-8 school settings.
- Experience facilitating small groups or mentoring programs.
- Knowledge of social-emotional learning, youth mental health, and suicide prevention.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
This is a part-time, school-based position during the academic year. Mentoring sessions take place during the school day, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Mentors work up to 32 hours per week and must be available for at least 15 hours per week.
Starting Salary: $21 - $23 per hour
