Description Position Summary

This is an onsite position located in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Candidates should apply only if they are able to be physically present and available to work onsite by the start date Forest Park campus is seeking a full-time instructor for the hospitality, culinary, and baking department. The position will work with all three programs to provide instruction both in a lecture setting and active lab setting.

This position will be part of an ongoing transformation of our facilities and curriculum while maintaining our nationally recognized, long standing ACF accreditation.

Primary Duties Performed
  • Full-time Faculty duties and responsibilities normally include:
    • Formal course contact teaching hours.
  • Preparation and planning for instructing assigned classes in accordance with course objectives.
  • Preparing and correcting examinations and other student work assignments.
  • Scheduling student conferences to review individual student progress.
  • Assistance in student academic advisement.
  • Participation in departmental selection of course texts; instructional equipment; library books and non-print resource materials.
  • Participation in departmental development, evaluation and revision of course objectives and outlines, instructional strategies, and systems of evaluation of student learning.
  • Participation on other departmental, divisional, campus and college-wide.
  • Appropriate assistance to part-time faculty.
  • Assistance in student recruitment, job placement or transfer placement.
  • Sponsorship of student activities, groups or clubs.
  • Attendance at faculty meetings and institutional ceremonies or meetings.
  • Participation in community activities. The College reserves the right to assign other normal professional responsibilities as may be appropriate.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree with major in subject field and two (2) years of full-time college teaching experience, and one (1) year of related full-time work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree with major in subject field and four (4) years of full-time related work experience.
  • Serv Safe Food Manager certified.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters in major field.
  • Experience running "front of house" operations.
  • Experience running a business.
  • Ability to teach hospitality, culinary, and baking courses with lab experiences.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, different modes of instruction (online, hybrid, face-to-face, and modes of the future).
  • Serv Safe Instructor/Proctor certified.
  • Certified in one or more of the following ACF credentials
    • Certified Executive Chef
    • Certified Culinary Educator
    • Certified Pastry Chef
    • Food service Management Professional
    • Certified Sous Chef
    • Certified Working Pastry Chef.
