Position Overview:

At KIPP St. Louis you will work with students and school teams to identify and support students who need extra support. You will improve student outcomes, identify and support students in small groups, and create targeted plans for student success. You’ll collaborate with classroom teachers, the student support team, and school administrators to support students to find their pathway to the futures they choose.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Reading, Math, or Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist, designing and facilitating engaging, high-quality small-group experiences.
• Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to develop weekly activity plans aligned to student interests, developmental needs, and learning goals within the assigned specialist area.
• Prepare instructional materials and activity spaces in advance and adapt instruction in real time based on student engagement.
• Lead engaging, high-energy small-group experiences that foster joy, curiosity, creativity, and belonging.
• Facilitate interactive, hands‑on activities such as movement, arts and crafts, games, STEM challenges, and collaborative learning.
• Manage daily program operations including attendance, transitions, meal and snack service, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate daily routines, meal service in compliance with Missouri CACFP guidelines, accurate meal counts, documentation, and adherence to state and federal requirements.
• Monitor student participation, collect and analyze program data to support continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with families, leading outreach and engagement efforts to expand program participation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned that contribute to mission.
• Operate computer and office equipment daily (Google Suite).
• Assist with meal prep and snack assembly.
• Move within the school to access materials, interact with students, and handle moderate lifting.
• Maintain emotional control, interpret policy, procedures and data, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in education, youth programming, or community engagement.
• Experience managing teams, designing youth programs, and driving student success.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing equity-focused practices.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to coach and develop staff in an identity‑affirming, student‑centered environment.
• Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and eliminating barriers to student success.
