Hiring Substitutes - Affton School District

We are hiring for Substitute Teacher and Substitute Teacher Assistants for the Affton School District. Substituting is an excellent opportunity to be a mentor and help students become the best versions of themselves. Substitutes are essential in ensuring students continue to learn and grow every day.

Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educator, guest teacher, or relief teacher. Substitute aides may also be referred to as paraprofessionals, education technicians, teacher's aide, instructional assistant, classroom assistant or education assistant.

Minimum Requirements:
• 18+ years of age (20 years + for high school)
• 36 college credit hours or high school diploma and completion of substitute training course

Substitute Pay Rates:
• Teacher/Librarian: $125 per day/$130 per day with Bachelor Degree
• Teacher Assistant: $15.92 per hour

Responsibilities:
• Assume duties of the district employee in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies
• Empower students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
• For long-term teacher assignments, it may be required to develop lesson plans, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments
