Coordinator, Education & Compliance

WashU's Division of Student Success seeks a campus life professional for the position of Coordinator, Education & Compliance. The Division of Student Success advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success. This position is complemented by cross-cultural communication knowledge to effectively connect and communicate with individual students/student groups.

The Coordinator for Education and Compliance is an integral part of the Department of Campus Life achieving its mission of empowering students to discover and define themselves and their communities through advising, programs and resources. The coordinator advises Student Union (undergraduate student government) Constitutional Council and the Sorority and Fraternity Life Standards Board. The coordinator oversees the training and compliance of student groups/chapters around policies pertaining to University recognition.

In addition, this position is responsible for generally supporting an assigned population of student groups.

The Department of Campus Life is a unit within the Division of Student Success at WashU in St. Louis. It interacts with student facing programs and initiatives in three distinct co-curricular areas: programming, advising, and resources. Through Campus Life, Student Union, the undergraduate student government is advised and supported. WashU currently has over 450 registered student groups and over 25 sorority and fraternity chapters that create a vibrant and active campus environment.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Advise Student Union Constitutional Council and Sorority and Fraternity Council Standards Board.
  • Serve as a Campus Life Advisor, engaging and supporting specific student groups in designated group categories. This includes, but is not limited to, communication outreach, event planning support, and guidance on group development and serving as a resource for groups/chapters with internal conduct boards.
  • Coordinate and update all campus life policy, student group handbook, educational resources, and online platforms with current and relevant changes.
  • Serve as a student group conduct officer. This includes reviewing incident reports, meeting with involved parties, investigating incidents, and coordinating all adjudicated cases according to established codes of conduct and policies. This also includes supporting the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards in large scale conduct or hazing investigations.
  • Coordinate all required a/synchronous trainings and education for chapters/groups to be in compliance with policy. This includes tracking attendance, preparing slide decks, and coordinating facilitators.
  • Partner with the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards to lead campus-wide hazing prevention efforts.
  • Support, attend, and participate in departmental and divisional functions, meetings, programs, and events. Serve as a resource for the Division of Student Success and the campus community on topics of student engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of post-graduate professional experience within Student Affairs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once and excellent problem-solving skills in order to provide optimal choices when advising students/student groups.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Ability to build strong rapport with students/campus partners is desired.

Salary Range:

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
