Substitute Teacher
Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School is seeking qualified and dependable Substitute Teachers to provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher supports the mission of Catholic education by maintaining a productive learning environment, implementing lesson plans, and fostering the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of students. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, effective classroom management skills, and a commitment to the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.
The Substitute Teacher serves as a temporary instructional professional responsible for carrying out classroom activities and maintaining continuity of instruction when regular teachers are absent. This position requires the ability to follow established lesson plans, manage student behavior, maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, and uphold the educational standards and Catholic mission of Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Supervise students in the classroom and other assigned areas to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Maintain appropriate classroom management and discipline consistent with school policies.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate records as required.
- Communicate important information regarding student behavior, classroom activities, and lesson completion to the regular teacher.
- Facilitate student engagement and participation in instructional activities.
- Adapt to various grade levels, subjects, and classroom settings as assigned.
- Support and reinforce the mission, philosophy, and values of Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while under supervision.
- Follow school procedures, emergency protocols, and administrative directives.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and school information.
- Promote respect, responsibility, and positive behavior among students.
- Collaborate professionally with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
- Participate in school faith activities when appropriate and support the Catholic identity of the school.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrator.
