CF Fellow Position
The CF Fellow serves to promote the Centre Francophone (CF) and French-related events s part-time position will be responsible for building and strengthening community relations between the university and French/Francophone related organizations, educational institutions (e.g., high schools, community colleges), and corporate and other partners to attract and generate interest in French study at Webster.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
- Facilitate the Seal of Biliteracy recognition by the university
- Develop internal and external partnerships with French-related organizations (i.e., AATF, Alliance Française de St. Louis, et al.), educational institutions, and corporate and other partners to strengthen academic-community partnerships
- Organize French/Francophone related activities and events at Webster to promote French language and culture to existing and prospective students in collaboration with relevant faculty
- Conduct outreach to local area educational institutions (high schools, community colleges, et al.) to promote French study at Webster
- Promote study abroad in French-speaking countries to current students in collaboration with Study Abroad as appropriate
- Maintain CF website, social media, and other communication platforms as needed
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities*
- Identify opportunities for internships and other experiential learning opportunities for students as appropriate
Functional/Technical Skills*
- Native or fluent French speaker with deep knowledge and understanding of French/Francophone cultures
- Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships across diverse stakeholders and effectively interact with people from different social and cultural backgrounds
- Experience organizing educational, cultural, or community events and working collaboratively with student populations
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with timely and professional responsiveness to emails and requests
- Strong organizational skills and multi-tasker with the ability to handle multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ability to learn new software as needed
- Experience living, studying or traveling in France or French-related countries highly desirable
