Job Summary

The Preschool Teacher’s Aide supports the lead preschool teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for young children. The Teacher’s Aide assists with classroom activities, supervision, routines, and age-appropriate learning experiences while helping promote the Catholic values and mission of the school.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
  • Provide attentive supervision of preschool children at all times.
  • Help create a warm, welcoming, and positive classroom environment.
  • Assist children with daily routines, including handwashing, toileting, meals, snacks, and rest time.
  • Support age-appropriate academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and activities.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom.
  • Encourage children to practice kindness, respect, cooperation, and responsibility.
  • Support the school's Catholic identity by modeling Christian values and participating in age-appropriate prayer and faith activities.
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally with teachers, parents, and school staff.
  • Follow school policies, safety procedures, and child-protection requirements.
  • Assist with arrival, dismissal, recess, field trips, and other school activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the lead teacher or school administration.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
  • Early childhood education coursework or experience is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate patience, warmth, dependability, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a teaching team.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and Catholic identity of the school.
  • Must meet all applicable background-check, training, and child-safety requirements.
