** Position Summary
** The Evaluation and Impact Manager leads the office-wide evaluation and impact portfolio for the Confluence Collaborative for Community Engagement at Washington University in St. Louis. This position is primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust evaluation systems that generate actionable data to strengthen programs, guide decision-making, and demonstrate community engagement impact across the University.
The Manager will be a major contributor and writer for the University's Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement application. This self-study process requires collaboration with units across campus to build shared evaluation infrastructure and ensure that evidence and learning are at the center of the Collaborative's work.#

Duties & Responsibilities:

** Program Evaluation and Impact
* Design, implement, and manage the office-wide assessment framework, ensuring that program evaluation plans systematically guide data collection, analysis, and use to improve program decision-making.
* Develop evaluation strategies for Confluence Collaborative programs and initiatives, including logic models, theories of change, priority evaluation questions, data collection instruments, and evaluation reporting templates.
* Lead the full evaluation cycle—from planning and instrument design through data collection, analysis, and reporting—for priority Collaborative programs each year.
* Synthesize and translate evaluation findings into accessible reports, dashboards, and presentations for diverse audiences including university leadership, community partners, and funders.
* Build a culture of continuous learning and data-informed practice by facilitating regular structured reflection among program staff and stakeholders.
* Provide evaluation consultation and capacity-building support to Collaborative staff so that assessment is embedded in program design from the start.
* Identify and track key performance indicators for community engagement activity across the Collaborative's program portfolio.  Carnegie Classification Self-Study
* Co-lead WashU's Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement self-study process from preparation through submission, coordinating all phases of data collection, application completion and review.
* Develop a comprehensive project timeline, engage campus stakeholders, and ensure alignment between self-study documentation and institutional community engagement priorities.
* Craft and write all section of application narrative using data and stories collected through the data collection process.
* Maintain institutional knowledge of Carnegie Classification criteria, best practices, and peer institution approaches to inform ongoing engagement infrastructure.
* Coordinate follow-up activities between classification cycles to sustain readiness and continuous improvement, including but not limited to monthly university-wide community-engagement impact gatherings  Data Management and Cross-Campus Collaboration
* Collaborate with units across campus—including schools, student affairs, research offices, and community partnerships—to create, collect, and maintain community engaged scholarship program evaluation data.
* Design and implement data collection systems and tools (surveys, tracking databases, reporting platforms) that enable consistent, reliable measurement of community engaged scholarship activity across the University.
* Maintain a centralized repository of engagement data, stories, and evidence to support institutional reporting, grant applications, and strategic communications.  Strategic and Institutional Contribution
