Teach St. Louis is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Talent & Communications Associate to join our team. In this role, the team member will be responsible for the recruitment of strong candidates for Teach St. Louis programs and communications for the Talent team, grounded in consistent, targeted, and impactful messaging. The Talent & Communications Associate will also help manage our network of external partners, including community organizations and university partners.
The Talent & Communications Associate will report to the Director of Talent.
Teach St. Louis recruits, trains, and supports effective educators who are committed to the region’s public schools. Teach St. Louis prepares and develops educators who are capable of accelerating student achievement and meeting the needs of the students and families they serve.

By training and developing educators specifically for the St. Louis context, Teach St. Louis plays an integral role in addressing educational inequities that persist in our region along racial and economic lines. Over the next five years, Teach St. Louis will strengthen and expand our educator preparation programs to certify 50 highly-qualified teachers for St. Louis public school classrooms each year.
Teach St. Louis will build capacity through deeply embedded school partnerships, supporting teachers and instructional leaders in the schools where we work. In this way, Teach St. Louis will support over 125 educators and 8,000 students each year.
Duties & Responsibilities Talent Recruitment
- Represent our organization and recruit candidates at local career fairs, school partners, informational sessions, and job forums.
- Partner with local organizations, colleges and universities and nonprofits to expand Teach STL’s network and identify qualified candidates.
- Manage candidate relationships from recruitment through the application process and enthusiastically communicate the benefits of participating in Teach St. Louis programming.
- Participate in candidate selection, assessing and identifying strong candidates whose experience aligns with the needs of our schools and district partners.
- Ensure accurate data in all of our recruitment systems; analyze this data to identify and address trends, making changes to outreach and recruitment strategies, as needed.
- Develop and communicate a clear and nuanced understanding of Teach STL’s unique value proposition in the K-12 landscape.
- Develop communications content, providing consistent, targeted, and impactful messaging to program candidates.
- Direct recruitment campaigns to target specific audiences, tailoring Teach STL’s value proposition.

- Minimum of 2 years of recruitment, sales, or communications experience preferred.
- Experience working for a non-profit, school, or education organization preferred.
- Excellent organization, time-management, and follow-through.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage complex systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects; ability to work independently and lead projects from start to finish.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively message Teach STL’s value proposition.
