Location: North St. Louis County, MO

Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $38.00 per Hour

Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

Schedule by School Level:

• Primary/Elementary: 9:00 AM – 4:45 PM
• Intermediate: 8:35 AM – 3:55 PM
• Middle School / 6th Grade Center: 7:10 AM – 2:45 PM
• High School: 7:50 AM – 3:25 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Band/Orchestra Teacher to inspire students through instrumental music education. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction, develop students' musical skills, and foster a lifelong appreciation for music. This position includes directing ensembles, preparing students for performances, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instrumental music instruction aligned with district and state standards.
• Teach music theory, technique, performance skills, and ensemble participation.
• Direct band and/or orchestra rehearsals and performances.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for concerts, festivals, and other performances.
• Maintain music inventory, instruments, and classroom equipment.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and families.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field required.
• Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain certification preferred.
• Experience teaching instrumental music preferred.
• Strong knowledge of instrumental techniques and ensemble instruction.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
