Miriam Learning Center is seeking Special Education Teachers and Reading Specialists to join our tutoring team. Tutors will provide individualized academic support to students in Grades K–12 based on each student’s unique learning needs and goals.

Special Education & Reading Specialist Tutor Miriam Learning Center is seeking Special Education Teachers and Reading Specialists to join our tutoring team. Tutors will provide individualized academic support to students in Grades K–12 based on each student’s unique learning needs and goals. Tutoring sessions are provided after school and during evening hours, with opportunities available at Chesterfield, St. Charles County and Webster Groves.

• Provide individualized, specialized tutoring to students in Grades K–12.
• Support students in areas such as:
  • Reading
  • Math
  • Writing
  • Executive Functioning and Study Skills
  • Homework completion and academic organization
• Develop and implement instruction based on each student’s individual needs, strengths, and goals.
• Use research-based instructional strategies and appropriate accommodations to support student learning.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Communicate with families regarding student progress and areas of continued growth.
• Collaborate with school personnel and/or other professionals when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tutoring sessions and student progress.

• Special Education Certification OR Reading Specialist Certification required.
• Experience working with students in Grades K–12.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and evidence-based instructional practices.
• Ability to individualize instruction based on a student’s learning profile and needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students and families.
• Previous tutoring or special education/reading intervention experience preferred.

• Flexible scheduling based on tutor and student availability

Miriam Learning Center provides an opportunity for educators to use their specialized training to make a meaningful difference in the academic growth and confidence of students.
