Position Summary

The Assistant Director of SMP & Domestic Recruitment builds the domestic pipeline that Olin’s long-term financial model depends on. Domestic growth is a strategic priority of the school, and domestic specialized master’s enrollment has grown sevenfold in three years. This role exists to keep that compounding: a field recruiter who lives on the regional circuit, builds campus-by-campus relationships across the Midwest, and converts them into enrolled students—120 of them a year.

Olin is in the midst of a deliberate transformation, and this position plays a key part in advancing Olin’s proud legacy and furthering WashU’s role in driving impact.

Reporting to the Director of FTMBA & Domestic Recruitment, the Assistant Director carries end-to-end responsibility for the domestic specialized master’s pipeline—the campus relationships, the event calendar, and the conversion, from first classroom presentation through deposit. This is a campus-relationship job as much as a candidate job: pre-business advisors, economics and accounting faculty, career centers, and student organizations at feeder institutions across the region, with WashU’s own undergraduates as the closest and strongest pipeline of all.

The role surfaces to leadership the institutions where deeper agreements—MOUs, guaranteed-admit pathways, 4+1-style programs—would convert relationship into recurring enrollment.

The ideal candidate is scrappy by temperament and systematic by habit: happy to drive four hours for a student-org presentation, disciplined enough to log every conversation, and sharp enough to see which campus visit should become a signed agreement.

Job Description Primary

Duties & Responsibilities:

Campus Relationship & Feeder Development
  • Build and work the feeder network campus by campus: pre-business advisors, economics and accounting faculty, career centers, and student organizations at target institutions across the Midwest and assigned domestic markets.
  • Cultivate WashU’s own undergraduate population as the closest and strongest specialized master’s pipeline—faculty referrals, student organizations, career center programming, and 4+1-style pathway promotion.
  • Deliver classroom presentations, student-org sessions, and advisor briefings that put Olin’s specialized master’s programs in front of students where they already are.
  • Surface to the Director of FTMBA & Domestic Recruitment the institutions where deeper agreements—MOUs, guaranteed-admit pathways, articulation and 4+1-style programs—would convert relationship into recurring enrollment. Agreements are owned and executed above the role.
  • Report demand signals, competitor activity, and advisor feedback by campus. Flag opportunity and risk early.
Domestic SMP Recruitment & Conversion
  • Carry the domestic specialized master’s pipeline from initial inquiry through deposit and matriculation.
  • Conduct one-on-one candidate conversations, program presentations, and information sessions, in person and virtually.
  • Meet the speed-to-lead standard on every assigned inquiry. No qualified inquiry waits.
  • Conduct evaluative interviews and submit substantiated recommendations to file review.
  • Run admit, deposit, and melt-prevention outreach. Stay with committed candidates through matriculation.
  • Maintain complete, current, and accurate candidate records in Slate. The forecast the school runs on is assembled from these inputs.
Regional Circuit Execution
  • Design and drive a recurring regional recruitment circuit—campus visits, graduate fairs, and advisor meetings across the Midwest—built around the academic calendar and…
