POSITION SUMMARY

The Anheuser-Busch School of Business at Harris-Stowe State University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Business Administration. The position is designed to provide broad instructional capacity across the business core while strengthening academic advising, assessment, accreditation, and other essential academic functions of the School. The successful candidate will teach business core courses based on academic qualifications and School needs and will provide instructional flexibility across multiple undergraduate business programs.

A significant component of the position will include supporting School-wide assessment and continuous improvement, including coordination and administration of the Business Entrance Examination and Business Exit Examination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach a full-time faculty course load in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, normally 12 credit hours during the fall semester and 12 credit hours during the spring semester.
  • Teach undergraduate business core and related courses consistent with the faculty member's academic qualifications.
  • Provide instructional flexibility to address enrollment needs and expand the availability of face-to-face business courses.
  • Maintain required office hours and provide timely academic assistance to scholars.
  • Serve as a faculty advisor and mentor to assigned undergraduate scholars.
  • Coordinate and administer the Anheuser-Busch School of Business Business Entrance Examination and Business Exit Examination.
  • Support the collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of assessment data.
  • Participate in Assurance of Learning activities and use assessment results to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to accreditation preparation, reporting, documentation, and evidence collection.
  • Assist with business core curriculum development, curriculum review, and program assessment.
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify opportunities to strengthen student learning and academic outcomes across the business core.
  • Support student retention, progression, graduation, career readiness, and engagement.
  • Participate in School and University committees, faculty meetings, professional development, and required University activities.
  • Engage in scholarly, professional, and service activities appropriate to the discipline.
  • Perform other faculty responsibilities consistent with University policy and the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Earned doctorate or other terminal degree in Business Administration, Management, or another closely related business discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Graduate-level academic preparation sufficient to meet institutional faculty qualification requirements for assigned business courses.
  • Broad knowledge of business concepts and the undergraduate business curriculum.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across multiple business disciplines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively use instructional technology and data to support teaching and academic decision‑making.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • College or university teaching experience in business administration or a related discipline.
  • Experience teaching multiple courses within an undergraduate business core.
  • Experience in academic assessment, Assurance of Learning, accreditation, or institutional effectiveness.
  • Experience coordinating standardized, entrance, exit, or other academic assessment activities.
  • Experience in curriculum development or program review.
