The Deputy Center Director is a key leadership position at the St. Louis Job Corps Center and serves as the second-in-command on Center
.

This position provides leadership and oversight of the Career Services Program
, including:

The Deputy Center Director is responsible for ensuring students receive the education, training, guidance, and support necessary to make meaningful progress, successfully complete the Job Corps program, and transition into quality full-time employment, higher education, or advanced training
.

This position plays a critical role in achieving positive student outcomes and maintaining a Center culture focused on accountability, achievement, personal growth, and career success
.

The Deputy Center Director has overall responsibility for student outcomes related to appearance, conduct, behavior, language, and statistical program achievement. This position also ensures the strict confidentiality of sensitive information and the accuracy and integrity of student data.

The Deputy Center Director may serve as Acting Center Director in the absence of the Center Director.

What You'll Do

As the Deputy Center Director
, you will provide strategic leadership, program oversight, and accountability across key education and career development functions.

  • Ensure approved curricula are effectively taught in all academic and vocational classrooms.
  • Provide direct oversight and overall management of the Center's Academic Program, including staffing, personnel matters, TABE compliance, high school credential attainment, math and reading improvement, driver education, and OMS outcomes.
  • Provide oversight of Career Services and Student Support functions and related outreach and placement outcomes.
  • Ensure students have access to meaningful Career Success Skills, Personal and Youth Development, and Work-Based Learning opportunities.
  • Ensure high-quality PYD and CSS programming is an integral part of Center life, particularly within Career Services and Education program areas.
  • Oversee training activities provided at off-center sites, including training quality assurance, safety standards, and related concerns.
  • Administer training subcontracts as required.
  • Monitor student progress, retention, completion, and career transition outcomes.
  • Monitor implementation of Career Services and Education initiatives and measure achievements against established objectives.
  • Identify areas for improvement and direct modifications to plans when conditions or program needs change.
  • Promote a positive, structured, and student-centered environment that encourages achievement and personal responsibility.
  • Help ensure students are prepared for successful employment, higher education, or advanced training.
