Position Title:
Building Paraprofessional
Reports To: Building Principal/Assistant Principal/Superintendent
Summary: The Building Paraprofessional performs a variety of computer, clerical, library, classroom and building duties to support building functions. The Building Paraprofessional provides general information and assistance to students and staff.

Interpersonal Skills Must possess strong, positive interpersonal skills including communication, ability to work with a group on problem solving, listening skills, positive attitude and deportment.Language Skills
Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations.
Mathematical SkillsPerforms routine computations requiring a knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and/or percentages.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and understand. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel and reach as well as to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, twist, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Regular attendance on the job is expected.
Terms of Employment:
Terms covering compensation, benefits, and working conditions are specified by the Board of Education’s policies, agreements and approvals. This is a nine-month position.
