Position Overview
Sr. Substation Drafter – GFT Power Group, St. Louis, MO (Hybrid). This role supports utility class electrical substation projects ranging from 15 kV to 500 kV, collaborating with senior staff to learn and strengthen design skills.
Responsibilities- Prepare plans and details of limited complexity to support broader engineering activities.
- Prepare schematic and wiring layouts.
- Work with engineers to incorporate redline markups.
- Collaborate within a design group to complete projects.
- Associate’s degree or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in the substation or power industry.
- Demonstrated interest in substation or power engineering through coursework, internships, or prior work.
- Working knowledge of CADD software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
$35.00 – $42.00 per hour, based on experience and location.
