Position SummaryTetra Tech Inc. is seeking a Structural Inspector to perform building inspections ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The ICC Certified Inspector will conduct thorough site inspections, identify code violations, and collaborate with project teams to uphold safety and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions- Conduct inspections of buildings, structures, and construction sites in accordance with International Code Council (ICC) standards and local building codes.
- Identify and document code violations and non‑compliance issues.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly to contractors, developers, and project managers.
- Collaborate with project teams and regulatory agencies to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain detailed records and reports of inspections and compliance status.
- Stay current with updates to ICC codes, building regulations, and industry best practices.
- Licensed in Architecture or hold a PE license.
- ICC certification in a relevant inspection discipline (e.g., Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Residential). Preferred.
- Experience conducting building inspections and interpreting code requirements.
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to document inspection results thoroughly and accurately.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to inspection sites as required.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain and climb up and down stairs.
- Standing or walking outside in adverse weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat.
- Working on site with loud equipment for extended periods of time.
