Departments of Transportation; and municipalities. We are currently seeking a Construction Inspector to help serve our connection of clients and community. The CEI will oversee and monitor infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications, design plans, and regulatory standards. This role involved acting as the primary on-site representative for the project owner, collaborating with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to facilitate successful project completion.

Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Inspect construction, rehabilitation, and upgrade activities at water and wastewater treatment facilities, including process systems and supporting infrastructure
  • Verify work complies with approved plans, specifications, permits, and regulatory requirements
  • Observe installation and testing of mechanical, piping, electrical, and process equipment such as pumps, valves, tanks, blowers, clarifiers, and chemical feed systems
  • Monitor and document startup, functional testing, commissioning, and performance testing of facility systems
  • Coordinate with contractors, plant operators, engineers, and regulatory representatives to address field issues
  • Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, progress photos, quantities, and as-built documentation
  • Track equipment deliveries and confirm installation aligns with approved submittals and shop drawings
  • Identify deficiencies, non-conforming work, and assist with corrective actions and punch list resolution
  • Monitor contractor compliance with site safety plans, confined space, lockout/tagout, and OSHA requirements
  • Support project closeout activities, including final inspections, O&M manual review, and warranty documentation
What you'll need
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or technical training in civil, mechanical, electrical, or environmental fields preferred
  • 3+ years of construction inspection experience, with emphasis on water or wastewater treatment facilities
  • Strong understanding of treatment plant processes (water or wastewater), including mechanical and process systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines such as AWWA, WEF, EPA, and state/local permitting agencies
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, P&IDs, shop drawings, and control diagrams
  • Experience documenting inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Strong communication skills for working with contractors, plant staff, engineers, and inspectors
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on active treatment facilities and construction sites
  • Certifications such as NICET (Construction Inspection), Water/Wastewater Operator, ACI, or state inspection certifications preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • Comfortable using field technology and reporting tools (tablets, Excel, inspection software)
