Network Controller / Network Administrator Onsite | Scott Air Force Base, Illinois
24/7 Mission-Critical Operations. TEKsystems, the client, seeks a Network Controller / Network Administrator to support mission-critical telecommunications and network operations at Scott Air Force Base, IL. This role plays a vital part in enabling secure, reliable global communications that support national defense, operational readiness, and humanitarian assistance across the globe. WhatYou’ll Do
As part of a 24x7 Global Network Support Center (GNSC), you’ll support Transport, IP, and Unified Capabilities (UC) environments by:
- Investigating network and telecommunications system incidents
- Identifying, documenting, and resolving network errors
- Analyzing alarms and performance indicators to proactively identify issues
- Configuring, testing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining:
- Routers, switches, firewalls, and cryptographic devices
- Voice and unified communications systems (VOIP, PBX, voicemail, call managers)
- Video Tele Conference (VTC) and video distribution systems
- Optical, ATM, Promina, MSPP, and transport network systems
Ensuring optimal performance while maintaining strict security and compliance standards.
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
- High School Diploma plus 3+ years of relevant technical experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) – required prior to start
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to work rotational shifts in a 24/7 operational environment
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management
- Solid understanding of transport and IP network topologies
Technical Experience with One or More of the Following:
- Routers, switches, and cryptographic devices
- Cisco networking technologies
- VOIP, Unified Communications, PBX systems
- Avaya, Nortel, Call Manager platforms
- Promina, MSPP, Optical Switching
- DSN/DRSN, GVS
Skills & Qualifications
- High level of professionalism required for work on an Active Air Force Base
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.65/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
