Overview
McGinnis & Associates is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to support our growing engineering practice. This role is ideal for an experienced or early-career engineer who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small-company environment.
As an experienced engineer, you will work with senior engineers on a wide range of project types, contributing to analysis, design, and construction documentation while playing an important role in project execution and client support.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of project types, including ground-up construction, steel stairs, industrial platforms, and temporary structures.
- Develop structural models for engineering analysis using Risa 3D and other industry-standard software.
- Support the development of construction documents from sketches, markups, and design direction.
- Develop and assemble structural calculation files for a wide variety of project types.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field (required). ABET accredited schools are preferred.
- 3-5 years of professional structural engineering experience
. - Proficiency in structural design principles and common building systems.
- Exposure to structural analysis and modeling software such as RISA-3D, MathCAD, and Enercalc (preferred, not required).
- Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD (preferred, not required).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Increasing technical responsibility and autonomy over time.
- Direct mentorship under multiple licensed professional engineers.
- Support for professional development, licensure pursuit, and continuing education.
