This position will be assigned to work in the Transportation and Public Works Code Enforcement Division in Clayton, Missouri.
DescriptionThe Project Manager is responsible for performing electrical plan reviews of construction plans and calculations submitted under applications for electrical permits to ensure compliance with Electrical Codes and other County regulations.
Responsibilities- Review and analyze plans and calculations for compliance with NFPA 70 National Electrical Code.
- Identify discrepancies and provide technical assistance to arrive at acceptable design solutions.
- Determine appropriate action for revisions if necessary.
- Provide assistance and information to the general public and various agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- College senior in a Bachelor's Degree program in Electrical Engineering, or
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Preference may be given to applicants with related experience, knowledge of construction codes, a professional license or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Meet all Project Manager I requirements and also hold one of the following certifications:
- Engineer‑In‑Training (E.IT.) Certificate from the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors.
- An Electrical Plans Examiner Certificate from the International Code Council (ICC) or another approved third‑party certification based on a written examination.
- An Engineering Intern Certificate resulting from the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) Exam.
- Meet all Project Manager I and II requirements.
- Registered Professional Engineer by the Missouri Board of Engineers.
- Five years of practical experience.
Annual starting salaries are typically as follows based on level and experience:
- Project Manager I: $55,536
- Project Manager II: $64,189
- Project Manager III: $68,994

The County also offers up to 480 hours of paid parental leave as of January 1, 2023.
Selectionand Appointment
A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant, including education, experience, supplemental questions, employment references, and other relevant information. Candidates must score at least 70% on the interview to be eligible for appointment. Selected candidates will receive instructions to complete a conviction questionnaire and must submit to a urinalysis prior to appointment.
