Job Description

We are seeking a CAD Drafter with strong mechanical aptitude to join our Technical Excellence Center. This role involves supporting cost-saving initiatives by replicating OEM components for brewery and plant equipment using 3D printing technology. The center is a hub for 3D printing and training in various disciplines, including brewing, instrumentation, CNC operation, electrical training, coding, and PLC/automation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with chief engineers and Zone Technical Experts to ensure products meet specifications and contribute significantly to the company's cost-saving efforts.

Responsibilities

+ Replace injection molding components with 3D models for use in plants.

+ Work independently and take initiative in 3D printing operations.

+ Conduct labeling and data management tasks.

+ Perform final quality checks and spot checks on components to ensure they meet specifications.

+ Investigate and follow up on defective parts before distribution.

+ Manage a steady flow of 5-10 orders per day, recreating physical parts using AutoCAD for 3D printing.

+ Ensure appropriate quality before handing off finished products.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong CAD skills, preferably Solid Works.

+ Experience in reverse engineering components for cost savings.

+ 3D drafting and modeling skills.

+ Mechanical aptitude with experience in CNC milling, gauges, and calipers.

+ Quality assurance experience to assess newly printed parts for specifications.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ A few years of experience as a drafter/CAD modeler with mechanical aptitude.

+ Fabrication or machining experience with proficiency in hand tools and measuring equipment.

+ Solid Works experience is preferred.

+ Exposure to quality control or quality assurance processes.

Work Environment

The role requires being on your feet for the majority of the day, working in the 3D printing room or handling replacement parts. The facility is smaller and separate from the main brewery, offering easy access to engineers and machine operators for real-time assistance. The work environment is laid back and fun, encouraging autonomy and initiative.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of St. Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
