Tooling Engineer/Tool Designer

Long Term Contract
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of complex tooling and equipment solutions for aerospace manufacturing. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling meets design, safety, and production requirements, while also integrating innovative technologies such as robotics and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and document advanced tooling and equipment concepts to support aerospace product design and manufacturing.
- Participate in design reviews, gather requirements, and create or revise 2D/3D models and technical drawings.
- Research and apply emerging technologies, including robotics and automation, to enhance build processes.
- Create offload packages, specifications, purchase requests, and usage instructions for tooling and equipment.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, ergonomics, maintainability, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Develop inspection criteria, preventive maintenance plans, and user training documentation.
- Provide technical support for engineering changes and resolve discrepancies through data analysis and problem-solving.
- Maintain configuration control of hardware and software systems.
- Evaluate and recommend disposition of existing tooling and equipment.
Skills:
- Prior experience in tool engineering within an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD tools and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, production systems, and quality processes.
- Knowledge of robotics, electrical engineering, and retrofit design.
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data and apply corrective actions.
- Familiarity with Boeing processes and standards is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

- Associate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
