Structural Engineer

We're a small established civil and structural engineering firm of 20+ people who care about each other and taking care of our clients who trust us.

Our industrial group is growing because we're engaged and responsive, and good at solving our clients' needs. We're relatively small within the industrial engineering world and can respond quickly and intelligently to our client needs. They appreciate that we're not one of the big firms because we're easy to work with.

We're looking for an engaged and curious problem solver who is a structural engineer with at least 3 to 4 years of experience, is planning to become licensed, and can engage and communicate with our staff and clients to gain their trust. We want someone who can be comfortable collaborating with other team members to find solutions.

• Proficient in performing structural engineering design and calculations.
• Familiarity with design codes such as IBC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.
• Comfortable reading and reviewing structural drawing packages and specifications.
• Ability to work with multiple materials such as structural steel, concrete, and wood.
• Reading and coordinating vendor drawings (i.e. PEMB or equipment drawings).
• Foundation and anchorage design.
• Self‑directed and mentally engaged with ambition for learning.
• Able to competently communicate in person and in writing. Must be willing to ask questions.
• Able to work closely with, creatively contribute to, and take direction from, a team of professionals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting amongst engineers, architects, contractors, and other construction personnel.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
• Experience in structural design software such as RISA3D, RISAFND, Enercalc, TEDS, etc.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience in Structural Engineering preferred, with preference given to candidates who have experience working on industrial projects.
