Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer's primary role will be to develop engineering solutions to a variety of engineering problems including electronic circuit design, debug, and implementation. This role will work as part of our R&D Team to define solutions and opportunities that drive business performance and growth for Stereotaxis technologies.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new products and enhance existing platforms in alignment with business objectives. Responsibilities include system architecture development, mixed signal PCB design, electronic cabinet design, and cable/harness design for use in a medical environment.
  • Produce design documentation, ensuring products can be effectively manufactured, tested, serviced, and supported throughout their lifecycle.
  • Support system-level verification and validation activities, including system acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.
  • Lead system level engineering analysis, performing testing, data interpretation, and problem solving to ensure product functionality, safety, and long term reliability.
  • Serve as a primary technical representative for manufacturing and field service, providing guidance across the full product lifecycle. Investigate field and production issues, identify root cause, and implement design or documentation updates to improve manufacturability, maintainability, and reliability.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • 7-10+ years relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer preferably in the medical device industry
  • Experience with 60601 standard, testing protocols, and interacting with test labs for product testing. Understanding of patient connected circuits and isolation requirements preferred.
  • Experience with relevant medical facility power requirements
  • Demonstrated ability diagnose and troubleshoot system and component level issues, including EMI/EMC challenges
  • Experience designing mixed signal, and low-to-mid power electronic circuits
  • Circuit card design experience, using Altium Designer
  • Microcontroller circuit design and programming
  • Multidisciplinary (electrical, mechanical, software, and systems) mindset and knowledge of motion control systems with brushless DC servo motors and drives using Ether

    CAT protocol
  • Knowledge of medical design control processes and new product development within the medical device industry
  • Strong technical writing ability, analytical, detail-oriented, independently driven
  • Familiarity with Engineering test tools, such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across mechanical, software, systems, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive tasks to closure with minimal supervision.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
Work Conditions
  • This role is a full-time, in-office position at Stereotaxis' headquarters.
  • Must be physically able to work in high magnetic fields.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% for offsite testing activities and onsite troubleshooting.
