Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since its founding in 1996, CDI has grown to over 150 team members across six locations in Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky. We serve clients in three states and specialize in Infrastructure + Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources.
We are looking for a Civil Engineer to support our mission of Building Stronger Communities. You will collaborate with projects and the team to develop better solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate the technical aspects of civil site projects assigned.
- Serve as the project point of contact with clients, consultants, contractors, and manage work scope, budgets, and schedules.
- Explore and contribute to our services in water resources, transportation, structural, site, survey, and infrastructure & analytics.
- Lead the design of site, utility, and grading improvements for civil site development projects.
- Design and draft project improvements in AutoCAD or Micro Station.
- Model and design aspects of civil engineering projects: pavement, sanitary and storm hydraulics, storm hydrology, and storm‑water management facilities, as well as roadway vertical and horizontal alignments, striping, signing, and signal design.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, and Micro Station and/or Open Roads Designer.
- Knowledge of civil engineering design related to water resources, transportation, structural or site development.
- Strong communication skills and experience building and sustaining strong client relationships.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a four‑year college or university.
- Engineer‑In‑Training (EI) certification, or ability to obtain it within 6 months.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 3–10 years of experience.
This role can be based at any CDI location. Travel of up to 10% is expected.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000–$120,000 per year, varying with experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
