Position Overview
* We are seeking a Project Manager to support a laboratory construction and build-out project. This role will be responsible for engineering oversight, coordination of construction and installation activities, vendor management, and supporting commissioning efforts.
* You'll play a critical role in ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate daily project activities across engineering, construction, facilities, safety, and quality teams
* Provide construction oversight, ensuring adherence to design specifications and timelines
* Manage installation of lab equipment, including analytical instruments, biosafety cabinets, and cold storage systems
* Maintain project documentation (drawings, RFIs, change orders, and submittals)
* Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, contractors, and equipment vendors
* Track budget, procurement, and schedule updates, proactively addressing risks
* Support commissioning activities, including IQ/OQ readiness and final handover
* Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and engineering standards
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related)
* 15+ years of experience in:
* Capital projects
* Lab build-outs or facility expansions
* Pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments
* Strong knowledge of:
* GMP, validation, and commissioning processes
* Lab infrastructure systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, clean utilities)
* Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
* Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar tools
* Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
* On-site role in a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing setting
* Highly collaborative with engineering, construction, and operations teams
* Hands-on involvement in an active build and installation environment

This is a Contract position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
