What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Electrical Energy & Utilities team and provide direction for project delivery, staff development, technical quality, and client service across multiple simultaneous projects.
- Assume multi-project responsibilities for full electrical design, including power distribution, telecommunications, controls, renewable energy systems, and medium-voltage system design for industrial and oil & gas markets.
- Serve as a senior technical resource from project planning through design, construction, startup, and closeout, helping teams deliver practical, high-quality solutions for technically complex facilities.
- Develop and oversee engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and related technical deliverables, while helping implement project execution plans, project controls, and QA/QC processes.
- Guide project approach, staffing, technical review, and production execution to support scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Direct and support electrical calculations, equipment selections, power systems analyses, and studies such as short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, and related evaluations as required by project needs.
- Coordinate closely with other disciplines, clients, contractors, utilities, and equipment vendors to deliver integrated solutions and maintain strong project communication.
- Build, maintain, and grow client relationships, while supporting business development, proposal development, project scoping, and technical approach development.
- Mentor, supervise, and develop engineers, designers, and drafters, including coaching, performance support, delegation, and technical growth.
- Support construction-phase services including submittal review, responses to contractor questions, field observations, commissioning support, and resolution of technical issues.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Typically, 12-15+ years of experience in technically complex electrical system design.
- 5+ years of staff management experience.
- Broad design experience including industrial power distribution, controls, hazardous classified areas, and medium-voltage systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead electrical design teams and coordinate multi-discipline project delivery.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, while managing multiple priorities and simultaneous projects.
- Ability to solve complex power engineering problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to direct the use of and perform QC review in SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and Easy Power.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of codes and standards associated with electrical power, including the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and applicable IEEE and NFPA standards.
- Ability to pass background checks and willingness to comply with client-specific site access requirements, including immunization, that industrial clients may require.
- Ability to complete occasional travel to client sites in support of projects
Nice To Haves:
- Knowledge of Navisworks software preferred.
- Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
