T-Kartor is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated full-time Aeronautical Analyst to join our growing team supporting global aviation and defense operations. In this role, you’ll help transform complex aeronautical data into mission‑critical navigation products used in real‑world flight operations around the world.
Aeronautical Analysts are responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and maintaining worldwide aeronautical data to create and update digital and graphic aviation navigation products for DoD flight operations. Products and libraries include high‑ and low‑altitude enroute charts, Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs), Standard Terminal Arrival Routes (STARs), and Instrument Approach Plates (IAPs). Analysts ensure navigation information, such as waypoints, airspaces, routes, procedures, and chart symbology, is accurate and complies with aviation standards and technical specifications that are critical to flight operations.
Responsibilities- Analyze source material, including host nation aeronautical data, government‑provided updates, and current digital maps, to determine the impact of changes on aviation navigation products.
- Create, maintain, and update digital high‑ and low‑altitude enroute charts and terminal procedure products, including SIDs, STARs, and IAPs.
- Convert worldwide aeronautical data into digital and graphic formats for flight operations.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and conformance to government product specifications and technical specifications.
- Identify and resolve data conflicts, and request clarification of source data or specification issues as needed.
- Comply with changes in product specifications and apply updates consistently across assigned products.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members via email, instant message, and voice.
- Work remotely with little day‑to‑day oversight; prioritize work, self‑motivate, and operate independently while working weekdays during team core hours.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), aviation, a technical field, or another related field of study; OR equivalent relevant experience in a related career field such as Air Traffic Control, Pilot, Flight Planner, GIS Analyst, or similar.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including working knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams). Must be able to quickly learn new computer software applications.
- Aviation knowledge, including a strong understanding of aeronautical principles, aviation navigation, instrument flight procedures, air traffic control concepts, and chart symbology.
- Private pilot certificate or higher; an instrument rating is highly desirable.
- Experience with GIS software, CAD software, or similar digital cartography tools, including tools such as Esri ArcGIS Aviation Charting, Bentley Open Cities Map, ESRI products, or similar.
- Experience with data analysis and/or reading maps.
- Previous experience in the production or use of enroute charts, IAPs, SIDs, and/or STARs.
- High‑speed internet is required: minimum download speed of 125 Mbps or faster.
