About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Drone Technician to support solar asset management across utility‑scale solar sites. Candidates must be willing to travel long distances (over 300 miles) on short notice (within 3 days) and must be a current FAA Part 107 Pilot with at least two years of experience operating DJI drones.

Ideally, you have flown Raptor Maps inspections on utility‑scale solar sites and are familiar with DJI Dock(s) and DJI Flight Hub 2 Flight Planning software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capture high‑quality aerial imagery and data for solar asset inspection.
  • Operate DJI drone platforms safely and efficiently under FAA Part 107 regulations.
  • Assist in data uploads and processing using Raptor Maps software.
  • Provide basic maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and carpentry support for onsite equipment.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure successful inspections and quick turnaround.
Qualifications
  • Current FAA Part 107 Pilot license.
  • CPR / First Aid certification.
  • Minimum 2 years operating drones, 1 year specifically on DJI models.
  • At least 50 drone flights at a solar farm.
  • Familiarity with DJI Dock 1 / Dock 2.
  • Proficiency in DJI Flight Hub 2 planning software.
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, and carpentry skills.
  • Registered LLC entity (preferred).
Pay Range
  • Abilene, TX: $300 - $800 per day.
  • Bakersfield, CA: $300 - $800 per day.
  • Saint Louis, MO: $300 - $800 per day.
