Job Summary
The Run Engineer serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to safely execute the supply plan. The Run Engineer enables safe and reliable production at a low cost that meets or exceeds customer requirements. The role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in the discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines to solve complex problems. The Run Engineer will also work closely with other individuals and teams to establish production commitments, maintenance coordination, and conversion cost goals within safe operating parameters and procedures.
Job Description- Works closely with the operations team leveraging their problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
- Owns day to day production troubleshooting, leads cross functional team to address production issues.
- Collects and categorizes lost production preventing the achievement of supply plan.
- Monitors and collects yield, energy usage, and sustainability data to achieve cost conversion and sustainability metric goals.
- Measures the performance of machinery uptime and maintenance bad actors to ensure reliable, low‑cost, high‑quality production.
- Responds urgently to plant issues and emergencies.
- Acts as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and executes the effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Provides expertise in the diagnosis and optimization in plant raw material and utility usage, which may include yield or waste generation.
- Responsible for validating and improving the technical skills of operations team members.
- Supports maintaining up to date and accurate standard operating procedures.
- Understands site integration and provides input to optimize the manufacturing process.
- Learns and applies continuous improvement, value creation, and financial acumen skills to accelerate profitability and low‑cost service of the facility.
- Drives high levels of safety, quality, responsiveness and reliability for the customer.
- Develops operator and supervisor training programs.
- Develops and maintains SOPs; leads or assists in RCA/CA to improve site HSE performance.
- Maintains/monitors key operating metrics.

Effective collaboration ensures you can harness the collective expertise and insights of various stakeholders including R&D teams, Marketing, regulatory affairs and external research partners. You can facilitate the exchange of ideas, align diverse perspectives, promote synergy and accelerate the product development process.
Analyzing existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, designing new production systems, ensuring product quality, optimizing efficiency, and making data‑driven decisions to improve production output while minimizing costs.
Technical Knowledge and Skills- Certifications in Six Sigma (Green Belt, Lean) preferred.
Education:
BS degree in Engineering required, Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience:
2 years of experience in Manufacturing and Engineering required; in the chemical industry preferred.
Language
Skills:
Fluent verbal and written skills required to be able communicate within the operations team and with other Elementis departments.
