Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hazardous Waste Management Specialist to join our team. The role is responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.

Hazardous Waste Management Specialist Responsibilities
  • Conduct site assessments to identify and classify hazardous waste materials
  • Develop and implement plans for the safe transportation, treatment, and disposal of hazardous waste materials
  • Ensure that all hazardous waste management activities are conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records and documentation of hazardous waste management activities
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and contractors on safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials
  • Conduct regular audits of hazardous waste management processes and procedures to identify and address areas for improvement
  • Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders
  • Stay current with new developments and advancements in hazardous waste management technology and best practices
Hazardous Waste Management Specialist

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar certification
  • Experience with hazardous waste management software and databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste treatment technologies
  • Experience in emergency response and incident management
  • 5+ years of experience in hazardous waste management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and handle sensitive material with care
