Onsite Sr. Network Engineer/Consultant - St Louis, MO
3 month assignment with potential to extend.
Work Authorization - US Citizen or Green Card.
Preferred Qualifications- 10+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of Cisco networking technologies.
- Strong hands‑on experience with F5 LTM/APM implementation and migrations.
- Experience with Cisco and Juniper wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Zscaler cloud security solutions.
- Proven experience leading Data Center migration and optimization projects.
- Experience working in large global enterprise environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
The Engineer will provide expert‑level network engineering, security, and Data Center migration services in support of enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives across global environments. The Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, delivering, optimizing, migrating, and troubleshooting complex multi‑vendor network and security platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, deliver, troubleshoot, and optimize LAN/WAN/Data Center network infrastructure.
- Perform advanced routing and switching configuration and troubleshooting using Cisco technologies.
- Analyze network performance and implement optimization strategies to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Design and implement high availability and redundancy technologies including HSRP, VRRP, dynamic routing protocols, and link resiliency.
- Participate in network standardization and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Develop technical implementation plans, migration procedures, and rollback documentation.
- Coordinate infrastructure implementation and migration activities with cross‑functional teams, vendors, carriers, and application owners.
- Expert‑level experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms including Catalyst, Nexus, ASR, and ISR platforms.
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- BGP
- OSPF
- EIGRP
- VXLAN
- STP/RSTP/MST
- QoS
- Multicast
- High availability technologies
- Expert‑level experience with:
- Fortigate
- Check Point
- Palo Alto
- Cisco firewall platforms
- Strong experience designing, implementing, migrating, and optimizing enterprise firewall environments.
- Experience with security policy management, NAT, VPN technologies, and segmentation strategies.
- Design, configure, implement, migrate, deliver, and optimize F5 technologies including:
- F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager)
- F5 APM (Access Policy Manager)
- Experience with:
- Load balancing
- SSL offloading
- HA clustering
- iRules
- Remote access VPN solutions
- Experience migrating legacy F5 appliances to newer hardware platforms including rSeries appliances.
- Design, implement, deliver, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise wireless environments.
- Strong experience with:
- Cisco Wireless Controllers
- Cisco Catalyst Wireless
- Juniper Mist Wireless solutions
- Experience with RF optimization, roaming, guest access, and 802.1X authentication.
- Design, implement, deliver, and optimize:
- Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)
- Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)
- Experience implementing Zero Trust and secure cloud connectivity solutions.
- Strong knowledge of SSL inspection, GRE/IPsec tunnels, authentication integration, and traffic forwarding.
- Lead and execute Data Center migration, consolidation, and optimization initiatives.
- Design and execute:
- Network migrations
- Circuit migrations
- Rack migrations
- Firewall migrations
- Load balancer migrations
- Server connectivity migrations
- Develop migration runbooks, implementation procedures, and rollback plans.
- Ensure minimal business impact during migration activities.
- Implement enterprise network security standards and best practices.
- Participate in infrastructure hardening and vulnerability remediation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and implementation standards.
- Successful design, implementation, delivery, and optimization of assigned network and security projects.
- Completion of Data Center migration activities within approved maintenance windows.
- Updated technical documentation, migration plans, and implementation deliverables.
- Stable and optimized network and security infrastructure.
- Timely resolution of project‑related technical issues.
