Job Description & How to Apply Below
Overview
At AION, we’re building sci‑fi medical devices.
Our mission is to bring aging under full biomedical control. We believe this can be achieved through closed‑loop hardware that reads and writes bioelectric states in living tissue using electromagnetic and acoustic fields – a control layer for cell reprogramming that chemistry and gene therapy fundamentally cannot provide.
We're looking for exceptional engineers to join us in building machines that make aging optional.
Responsibilities- Design and fabricate custom hardware for ultrasound experiments from cells to animals to humans.
- Work directly with scientists to translate informal descriptions into functional, iterated parts.
- Perform acoustic simulations and close the loop: design phased arrays, acoustic lenses, wave guides, fabricate them, and make them practical to use at the bench by scientists.
- Survey and prototype emerging modalities: optoacoustics, quantitative ultrasound spectroscopy, laser acoustics.
- Build signal analysis pipelines to extract biophysical data from acoustic signals: attenuation, back scatter, spectral features, shear wave speeds.
We value mission alignment, integrity, and ambition over pedigree.
- Strong first‑principles thinker who's comfortable working with teammates outside your own domain.
- Generalist wiring: willing to learn in new domains.
St. Louis, MO (on‑site).
