The CAD Senior Designer performs advanced design assignments which require the application of advanced design techniques in accordance with company and industry standards and codes. Most assignments are performed with minimal guidance from the discipline lead or department manager.

• Demonstrated the individual responsibility to successfully multiple projects
• Prepares detail and layout drawings and sketches of unusual, complex or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge using different perspectives. Assignments regularly include determining material needs and performing necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references.
• Utilizes information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, design guides, etc. to assist in drawing assignments.
• Effectively establishes design criteria for assigned project requiring the application of basic engineering principles, material properties, and a thorough familiarity with construction, installation and maintenance procedures.
• Provides conceptual input to projects during the planning stages.
• Works collaboratively with discipline lead to support field work duties as required by project.
• Reviews vendor prints for conformance with contract specifications. Clearly and comfortably delegate routine and important tasks to lower‑level design/drafting personnel with design sketches for preparation of finished design drawings, general layouts and guidance in refining technical requirements.
• Personal ownership for disciplines’ project execution results with respect to man‑hours, schedule, cost control, quality, etc.
• Provides technical guidance to lower‑level design/drafting personnel and reviews complete assignments for accuracy and compliance with design standards.
• Frequently interacts and work collaboratively with other departments, clients, vendors and project manager in order to support project needs.

Key Knowledge

Skills and Abilities

• 2-year Associates of Science in Computer Aided Drafting degree with 20 years of experience.
• Experience in use of Autodesk products.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Demonstration of working well within a team atmosphere is required.
