Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer
Location: St. Louis
Job Summary
Collaborate cross‑functionally with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and internal teams to translate product designs into scalable, cost‑effective production solutions. Provide technical expertise to support project timelines, cost targets, and overall product success. Utilize engineering tools and methodologies to support the full product lifecycle, including design, analysis, testing, validation, and production launch.
This role supports the development and production of electric motors, including both electrical and mechanical design, customer sampling, engineering approvals, and ongoing product support.
Key Responsibilities Product Development & Engineering- Develop and define product specifications based on customer and market requirements
- Design electric motors, including both electrical and mechanical components
- Perform engineering analysis, testing, and validation to ensure product performance and reliability
- Create and maintain production documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs) and technical drawings
- Conduct testing per internal and external standards and generate detailed test reports
- Analyze and interpret performance data, including graphing and summarizing results
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support product development and resolve issues
- Coordinate meetings and communication with customers, manufacturing sites, and internal stakeholders
- Develop project schedules, resource plans, and test plans to ensure timely execution
- Support new product launches and transfer designs into production
- Prepare technical proposals and quotations in response to customer and marketing requests
- Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers, both remotely and on‑site
- Support sales and marketing with product selection and application guidance
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Identify and contribute to cost reduction and product improvement initiatives
- Support software testing and troubleshooting for new releases
- Assist in the development of new product platforms
- Partner with Quality teams to address and resolve product issues
- Support manufacturing plants in troubleshooting design and process‑related challenges
- Operate lab equipment and tools to test fractional horsepower motors
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical schematics
- Safely use hand tools and power tools as needed for testing and prototyping
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in engineering, preferably within the electric motor or manufacturing industry
- Internship or co‑op experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment is a plus
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams
- Demonstrated initiative and emerging leadership capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
- Familiarity with safe operation of hand and power tools
- Ability to travel on a limited, quarterly basis
