Electrical Designer (EIT)

Full‑time position at Hanson Professional Services Inc.

• Support electrical design efforts on a variety of projects across the country, with emphasis on Hanson’s Government market.
• Assist with planning, design, and construction support activities under guidance of licensed Professional Engineers and project managers.
• Prepare and revise electrical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Support design of electrical power distribution systems, interior and exterior lighting systems, and fire alarm/low‑voltage systems.
• Assist with lighting and power system design, grounding systems, electrical distribution layouts, and equipment selection.
• Support generator and emergency power system design.
• Prepare calculations and assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews and field observations.
• Coordinate with project engineers, designers, and CAD/Revit technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• 0–2 years of experience in consulting professional services or a closely related field.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Preferred:
  Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Preferred:
  Exposure to electrical, building, and energy codes.
• Preferred:
  Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Preferred:
  Understanding of power distribution, lighting systems, and electrical calculations.
• Preferred:
  Familiarity with lighting calculation software (Visual, AGI
  32), basic power system analysis tools (voltage drop, short‑circuit calculations), and energy analysis tools (COMcheck, FLACOM, Energy Gauge).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Motivation to pursue professional growth and licensure.

• Ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices.
• Willingness to travel and work additional hours as project demands require.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000.
