Sirius Talent Solutions is partnering with a global life sciences organization to identify an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support a major pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion project in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
This is a senior-level project engineering opportunity supporting large-scale capital projects within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience leading life sciences facility projects, including cleanroom construction, classified manufacturing spaces, and project execution within active pharmaceutical operations.

Pay Rate: $96.30/hour
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week onsite
Travel:
Candidates must either reside in the St. Louis area or be able to travel and work onsite Monday through Friday.
The Principal Project Engineer will provide senior-level technical leadership and project engineering expertise for critical pharmaceutical capital projects. This individual will lead project work streams, collaborate with site and construction teams, drive project execution, manage risks, and ensure successful delivery of project objectives related to scope, budget, quality, and schedule.
This role requires strong pharmaceutical manufacturing experience, including cleanroom environments, cGMP compliance, validation processes, and brownfield project execution within operating facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior-level project engineering leadership throughout all phases of project execution.
- Lead project work streams within large capital projects and ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
- Collaborate closely with site operations, engineering, project management, and construction teams.
- Identify, evaluate, mitigate, and manage project risks while implementing effective solutions.
- Drive timely decision-making and elevate critical issues as needed.
- Maintain active communication with project stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, construction submittals, and RFIs.
- Manage scope changes while balancing safety, quality, budget, schedule, and operational requirements.
- Develop project schedules, maintain accurate documentation, and drive accountability across assigned work streams.
- Support qualification, validation, and commissioning activities within regulated pharmaceutical environments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations, industry standards, and cGMP requirements.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum 15 years of project engineering and capital project execution experience.
- Strong background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences manufacturing facilities.
- Experience leading cleanroom construction projects and classified manufacturing spaces (Grade C/D environments).
- Experience supporting qualification and validation activities within regulated facilities.
- Demonstrated expertise interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations, industry standards, and cGMP requirements.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to independently manage project work streams, schedules, documentation, and decision-making processes.
- Process Engineering background.
- Brownfield pharmaceutical project experience within active manufacturing facilities.
- Experience supporting large-scale pharmaceutical expansion projects.
- Experience working directly with construction teams during project execution.
