Avionics/Electrical Technician 3 (Weekend Nights) – GAC St. Louis
Compensation & Benefits- Base compensation: $34.02 – $39.69 per hour, with final compensation determined by qualifications, experience, and location.

Provides technical expertise while performing various operational, functional tests and repairs of avionics/electronic aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect‑free aircraft. Provides superior technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to minimize schedule impact.
Essential Functions- Exhibit superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
- Teach installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals to ensure a defect‑free system.
- Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations – troubleshoot and teach troubleshooting processes and concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
- Repair or replace defective components and wiring using acceptable practices (splicing, soldering, pinning).
- Oversee performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
- Set up and operate necessary test equipment.
- Conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Maintain daily logs and other required paperwork.
- Pre‑inspect work of others, prior to submission for approval, to reduce rework and inspection time.
- Provide technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems.
- Enforce FOD, tool control, 5‑S program and all safety regulations.
- Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
- Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
- Teach installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications.
- Conduct self‑inspection of all avionics testing functions in applicable areas.
- Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests on aircraft as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems (hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations).
- APU and engine run qualifications.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Blueprint efficiency.
- Previous installation experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Five years of experience in an avionics or electrical career field.
- Two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics may offset two years of experience.
- A & P license, FCC license or NCATT certification preferred.
