The core task of the EMEA-Team Case Conveyor Systems is the realization of project-specific conveying systems in the intralogistics. The focus is on container and light piece goods conveying technology. Dematic standard belt and roller conveying technology, conveying technology special constructions and purchased components are used. The range of purchased components extends from standard catalog goods to complex machines. An area-wide cooperation with the departments Project Delivery, Hardware Controls, Structural Engineering, Software Controls, Solution Development, technical purchasing, CE Compliance, manufacturing and installation rounds off the range of tasks.

The project scope and the time situation decide on the number of team members involved in a project. Due to the different engineering locations that Dematic has in EMEA, the composition of the project team with colleagues from different nations is not uncommon.

Basic Engineering:

• Measurement at the customer (Greenfield/ Brownfield projects)
• Creation of the approval layout for the customer design freeze
• Safety consideration of the project scope (mechanics) and definition of the required measures.
• Creation of detail concepts based on the sales layout and the project requirements and integration into the approval layout
• Material flow review based on the sales layout and the products that are transported on the conveying technology.
• Clarification of interfaces to other trades such as steel construction, building, etc.
• Feasibility study of the layout/material flow together with software/hardware controls
• Collision check
• Definition of access areas for the service and maintenance of the system.
• Definition of escape and transport routes
• Definition of the required special constructions.
• Ergonomics assessment of workplaces
• Preliminary mockup design of workplaces
• Engineering support in customer meetings during this engineering phase

Detail Engineering:

• Create detail layout
• Detail definition of the conveying technology (drives, conveying speeds, roller and belt design, side guidance, supports, suspension, etc.)
• Detail planning of the required superstructures, maintenance platforms, etc. for maintenance and service.
• Detail coordination of the layout areas with software/hardware controls
• Detail planning of the required safety devices.
• Creation of technical specifications for purchased components and coordination of the technical details with the supplier.
• Carry out special constructions
• Final mockup design of workplaces including technical and ergonomic detail coordination with the customer.
• Generate parts lists for the order of Dematic conveying technology in our manufacturing.
• Generate purchase requirements for purchased components in SAP
• Create data lists for hardware controls planning
• Create installation drawings
• Handover of all information to the installation team.
• Create plant risk assessment and conduct safety walk-through with CE-Compliance at the customer.
• Installation support remote and on-site at the customer
• Engineering support at supplier FAT
• Engineering support in customer meetings during this engineering phase
• Management of work packages within the project team, also from external engineering support.

• Diploma engineer / master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (a specialization in the areas of conveying technology or intralogistics would be an advantage)
• 3 – 5 years of professional experience (we are happy to give graduates a chance)
• Competence in project engineering (preferably in the field of intralogistics or similar)
• Competence in machine construction (preferably in the field of conveying technology or similar)
