Mechanical Designer
As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing equipment and specifications for major components, equipment, and processes. You will work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure effective communication regarding equipment standardization, project coordination, and product information generated from Sales. This role involves detailing schematic and process flow drawings, providing support to fabrication, assembly, and testing departments, and participating in technical/sales meetings to assess project feasibility.
Responsibilities- Design equipment and specifications for major components and processes.
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure effective internal communication.
- Detail schematic drawings and process flow drawings as required.
- Give time estimates on completing drawings and inform Management of project deadline concerns.
- Modify drawings and process Engineering Change Requests/Engineering Change Notices (ECR/ECNs) as required.
- Monitor fabrication of equipment to ensure design intent is met and provide feedback for design improvements.
- Complete job summary reports to record potential improvements for future projects.
- Proficiency in design using Solid Works.
- Experience in mechanical design, skids, and steel fabrication.
- 2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
- 2+ years of experience with 3D modeling within Solid Works.
- 1+ year of experience in a steel fabrication shop (oil field skids, mounted equipment, mobile trailers, fabricated frames).
- Knowledge of power distribution, power generation equipment, and structural design.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per hour.
